Irises in Bloom

In our constantly changing perennial garden, our irises have begun to bloom.

A friend gave me different kinds of iris bulbs a few years ago...

These large tall purple ones - as well as the cluster of small blue ones that are beginning to bloom next to them in the foreground.

Soon I expect to see some tall yellow irises, too.

It's nice to see new flowers begin to bloom all summer long.

But there is always a sadness when their short blooming seasons end.
