"1001 Pots"

This summer I heard about a month-long pottery display and sale called "1001 Pots," held annually in Val David, Quebec, a town between Montreal and Mont Tremblant.

If we have time, I'd like to go, I told Terry...

So 10 days ago, we drove into the Laurentians to Val David.

The region reminded me of the interior of British Columbia, where my parents used to live...

Val David is a pretty town...

Parking lots were full: We weren't the only tourists in town!

Walking around, we noticed attractive old buildings...

It was obviously a popular tourist area...

A bike path ran through the town. I would have liked to follow it to see where it led.

We found the garden where the pottery exhibit was held.
One part of the garden is enclosed by a pottery "wall" - made of damaged pots...

Broken pottery shards also created a "stream" under a footbridge.

Different styles of pottery were showcased, like this display of pitchers...

Numerous tables held pots that were for sale...

The exhibit included pottery from many parts of Quebec.

A lovely, inspirational pottery place to visit.
