Flower flattening sheets of rain...

Some parts of the city experienced flooding. Trees were struck by lightning...
I'm thankful because...
- this time our neighborhood escaped. (In 2002, the fringe of a hurricane flooded many basements on our street, wrecking havoc in our lives for about 6 months - until all the repairs were done.)
- we do need rain for our gardens and grass... (It has been a hot, dry summer.)
- I wasn't out walking with a sudden storm struck!

A few minutes later the rain was over... Only puddles remained.
It has been an interesting time for sky-watching...

I chased a red sunset as we sped down the highway, missing some really great pictures...

In that split second between the eye seeing and the finger snapping the shutter ... a building or a wall came between.

But once, driving into a parking lot, after being pelted with rain, I did manage to photograph... a rainbow!
