Sunday Drive to Smiths Falls

One recent Sunday, Terry and I decided to head to Smiths Falls for a "Sunday Drive".

The last time we were there, we discovered a parking lot close to the rushing water in Victoria Park.

From there, we could walk around and watch the boats go up and down the Rideau Canal locks.

We ventured across the canal to the spot where vacationers parked their campers.

Nearby luxury rental boats were docked. They could be taken out for several days at a time...

How would it feel to stay in a boat on the water for several days? I wondered.

When my family had a 17-foot boat in Kelowna, we'd go out for rides and picnics, but never to sleep onboard.

A little more wandering around this lovely site...

A lovely spot to spend a few hours on a nice summer's day!
