Wandering Around Andrew Haydon Park

Spring and fall are my favorite seasons - the weather is perfect!

On warm days I have an irresistible urge to head outdoors... Not to garden (unfortunately!) but to walk in some beautiful, interesting spot and simply enjoy the day!

Recently I suggested to Terry that we take a walk in my favorite city park - Andrew Haydon Park.

We used to go there often when our children were young.  But over the years, geese have proliferated in the park, until it was hard to walk there without stepping on goose droppings.

The park, located on the Ottawa River, had become a popular nesting space for geese in the spring. The grass was full of hundreds of geese....

Cute! But hard to walk in... People began avoiding the park.

In an attempt to solve the problem, dogs on leash are now allowed in the park - and I think that this is helping.

We didn't see as many geese there this time. Hopefully they've found new nesting spots  a little further down the river...

We were able to walk around and simply enjoy the views of the river - and the park ponds...

So beautiful!
