Orangeville - Another Lovely City

Terry and I often visit small towns around Ottawa - but recently we've also begun visiting places near Guelph, where our daughter lives. One small city that we recently explored is Orangeville, west of Toronto.

This lovely historic city has a population of about 30,000.

(Of course, the old historic main street is always the most interesting...)

Here and there, we'd come across carved wooden statues, like this one of a well-known teacher from the early years.

I wonder if these statues were all created by a local craftsperson...

I wonder if they are standing on the stump they were carved from.

We wandered into several bakeries, drawn in by the smell of baked goods...

Our daughter bought some locally famous short-bread cookies.

Saw antiques - like this pram from the 1920's - in the the Orangeville Restore.

The weather was warm, so we stopped to rest now and then!

(Who are these tired, white-haired people?!!)

They still enjoy wandering around, visiting new places, and admiring beautiful homes and farm land!
