On The Danforth

Terry and I lived in the neighborhood called East York the year he was a student at the Institute for Christian Studies in Toronto. We had a bright apartment near "the" Danforth, one of the area's main streets... (I have no idea why people don't refer to it as Danforth "Avenue" - but no, it's "the" Danforth!)

Often, when visiting Toronto, we drive back to the Danforth (where we used to do most of our shopping) and enjoy a meal in one of the excellent Greek restaurants on the street.

Our most recent visit brought us to Pappas, where we enjoyed souvlaki, Greek salad, rice and potatoes.

Greek bread and olive oil...

On a warmer day, we could eat outside..

After eating, we wandered down the street...

...admiring its landmarks (like this old church)...

The street art...

Greek souvenir shops...

(You don't have to go to Greece to get Greek souvenirs!)

And cute storefront windows.

Visiting the Danforth always feels a little like returning home!
