In the college near our home, I noticed this sign: Please keep off tulips. Thank you.
The sign should have jogged my memory, but it didn't. I remembered too late!
Just as I was beginning to enjoy the tulips in our yard, I noticed that squirrels had again bitten off the heads of two tulips under my weeping cherry tree!
For some reason, they do that every year! Why? They don't eat them...
I quickly ran for the paprika shaker - sprinkling paprika on all the remaining tulips may save them from a similar fate...
That's the only way I know to communicate to squirrels: Please keep off my tulips!
