Never Say "Never!"
Gas prices didn't mean a lot to me before I owned a car - but I do remember when the price of a barrel of oil went up to $20 a barrel... (Was that in 1973?) I didn't own a car at the time - but I do remember the world-wide shock created by that move (by OPEC)...
Now - another shock...!
