Handbuilding Class... with Tim

There are limited spaces in city-run pottery studios: this term I didn't get in...

What to do?!

After thinking about it for a bit, I decided to take a class with a potter known for creating interesting looking birds... As soon as he showed us how he made them, I tried one myself...

Here it is before I wrapped it in plastic to slowly dry for a week...

I tried to create an interesting head of feathers - but, now that it's done, it looks a little strange! It's probably good to photograph things we make... A picture provides a different  view and impression.

Like everything else - practice makes perfect. I hope none of the pieces fall off in its numerous trips through the kiln!
