The Patience of Trees

I hate to wait... something Terry does not mind doing. So I am drawn to a comment Richard Foster makes in his book, Sanctuary of the Soul. He tells how he loves to walk in nature and observe chipmunks, deer and birds, all busy "doing the will of God."

"But it is the trees that capture my attention the most, and they lead me into complete silence. It's the patience of the trees - stately, quiet, [and, in winter] laden with snow. The trees give me a glimpse into the cosmic patience of God. There among the trees, I behold the Lord, the Creator of the trees."

Hmmm. I never thought of trees - as being patient!
