Perth's "Maple Festival"

Last Saturday Terry and I headed west to Perth for their annual maple festival...

We started with a pancake breakfast... (There was, of course, lots of real maple syrup on the pancakes!)

As sometimes happens, a few children thought Terry was Santa Claus on his day off!

Later we wandered around the main street...

... which had been blocked off and turned into a pedestrian mall.

I looked forward to buying a bowl of soup (or chili) - a fund-raiser for various food banks and soup kitchens

The bowls are donated by Perth potters.

There was a busy children's play area...

Sheep shearing demos were in progress.

Perth is one of my favorite historic towns in Ontario - it has lots of lovely old buildings.

The day was perfect in every way.
