Eyes Over Parliament Hill

It's always interesting to notice gargoyle faces in old buildings in Europe. (I didn't realize - until I looked up "gargoyle" on Wikipedia in the link above - that they were originally created as spouts for water running off roofs of old buildings.)

Parliament Hill, an old building in Ottawa, may have its gargoyles, too. I don't know.

But when we were recently showing our British Columbia visitors around Parliament Hill at sundown, a "face" on this old parliamentary tower suddenly jumped out at me.

Its mouth expresses shock and surprise!

So cute! Was the person who designed the building anticipating government scandals and more?!
