Easter Sunday!

"The Lord is risen!"

"He is risen indeed!"

I first became aware of this traditional Easter greeting when I lived in Israel. On Easter Sunday, one normally-quiet Russian lady would always greet everyone with a big smile and the words: "The Lord is risen!" (The first time I heard it, I didn't know what to say! But I soon learned the traditional response...)

Today, as I celebrate Easter, I'll think about her - and all the Easter symbols I've encountered over the years.

Instead of white Easter lilies, I'll appreciate the white roses on my dining room table.
