Daylight Update

Daylight is precious these winter days... precisely because there's so little of it, compared to the rest of the year.

I took this picture a little after 7 pm one evening last week. After three hours of darkness, I was thinking of going to bed!

How well I remember driving to work before dawn - at 7 am - and returning home 9 hours later, at 4 pm during my working days. The sun had already set.

Another day missed! I hadn't been outdoors at all during daylight.

During COVID I started tracking sunrise and sunset... and I still do.

Today the sun will rise at 7:35 am, a minute later than it did yesterday... But ... it will set a minute later than yesterday, as well. That means that both yesterday and today, we had 8 hours and 45 minutes of daylight... No decrease!

The changeover to GAINING a minute a day has begun!
