One of the animals we've never seen up close - until now - is a beaver. We've seen them in the water near highway 7, but never just walking along the road.
What's that? Terry asked and slowed down.
A groundhog, I suggested. But groundhogs are faster than that.
As we slowed to a stop, the beaver stopped too, as if to ask: Are you offering me a ride?
He then continued on his way, before slipping out of sight into the grass.
Strange... This guy looks black. I always thought they were two-tone brown. I wonder if he's been swimming.
